A new valve sizing worksheet is now available on our website. The form was created in response to a suggestion made by one of our distributors. It is a comprehensive fillable Word document that covers areas such as:

A Firesafe Fusible Link Assembly

A-T's firesafe ball valves can be fitted with an FM approved fusible link. The FM approved fusible link is available in three temperature ranges: 135°, 165° and 212° F. The size range is ½” thru 3” on the Series 88 and D9. The size range for the series 90 is 1” thru 3”. The High Performance Butterfly valve is 2” thru 4”.

The unit automatically closes the valve when the temperature reaches the melting temperature of the fusible link. It can also be equipped with a limit switch to signal the control room that the valve has closed. After a closure, the unit can be reset in the field only requiring a new fusible link, provided the emergency event has not damaged the assembly. The unit is for emergency valve closure only and cannot be routinely cycled open and close.
